Tablature/Notes/Ear

Tabs, notes, and ear training are basically the three ways to learn guitar by yourself as a beginner. Most people that are starting off with guitar resort to using tabs, because you don't really need any music knowledge at all to be able to play by reading tabs. The only problem that i find in this is that people get so used to it that they don't want to learn how to read actual notes, and they have never used their ear before too. I think that after a person has gotten certain skill at playing an instrument like the guitar, they should stop using tablature and begin working on their ear to figure out songs. Knowing how to read notes is a plus. It is not completely necessary, but it will help you. The only thing I really do suggest is to try and stop using tabs, and resort to your ear. This way you can learn how to listen to a song in a completely different way. A way that you'll hear every single detail separately. not only will this help you become a better guitarist, but a better musician in general. Training your ear will help you with anything that has to do with music for the rest of your life. USE YOUR EARS!
